Fabulous Friday!!!!

Good Friday everyone!

It's going to be a hot one here for us in the States... here, where I am, in Colorado, at least we don't have the humidity like our East Coast friends.  Stay cool and drink lots of water everyone!

It's been a busy, creative week here for me.  I have completed some things that I have wanted to make.   The week started with some power sewing some gifts for a niece's baby shower.  I made a couple of bibs, receiving blanket, pacifier clips, embellished a frame and made a few burp cloths.  She's having a boy which was hard for me since I have two girls.  Where's the lace?  Where's the pink?  The biggest challenge for me was choosing fabric.   I didn't take enough pictures, but I am pleased with how these goodies turned out.

I also whipped up some drink cozi's for our cold drinks.  I don't like when my cups sweat while enjoying my favorite beverage outside...

 I also made some coasters...

Then, I found a vintage chandelier from a freecycler (freecycle.org) and upcycled it into a fabulous "new" chandelier.  I love all of the glass and crystals.  I have two other that I received from a neighbor in our old house, but it's not nearly as detailed as this one with respect to the glass/crystals.

Isn't it lovely??? I'll post better pictures once I really finish this... I need to hang it to finish some of the details.

have an amazing day!

New listing on Etsy!

I've been trying to stick to a plan... a plan to finally get my lil' business up and running.  I am currently on plan to list at least 5 items in my Etsy shop.  So... head on over and take a look.  The holidays will be here soon and you will need to shop early, right?  Also, if you are having any summer gatherings, what would be more adorable than vintage table decor.  I will be posting milk glass vases that are adorable with a single sunflower in them for a summer gathering with family or friends.

getting back to sewing...

I love to sew, however, it's been a while since I have taken the time to do so.  I came across the cutest apron pattern on another blog and decided to go for it.  I think it turned out darling.  I haven't used my machine in a while and it might need a tune-up, or maybe I do.  It's was my mom's... her baby.  When she passed away, I was honored to get it along with her other machine, a Babyloc.  I have yet to learn how to use the Babyloc, but need to learn as it would be quicker to finish edges with the Babyloc.

So, here's some pictures of the adorable apron I made with my youngest daughter, Lily, modeling it... I love the fabric.  I may give it to my daughter as she is moving into her own apartment soon for her senior year in college.  I made her placemats out of the same fabric, so it would be cute for her to have a matching apron.  She loves to cook, learning it from me.  It's a natural in our family to create... I grew up in an Italian restaurant my parents owned for my whole youth.  My grandmother founded it, "Mama Fazzino's".
Maybe I just need to keep it!

I almost couldn't work on it as one of our kitties loved the fabric, too!  If you want to check out the free pattern, here's the link to the Apron Tutorial

Enjoy!
